Ambient electronic project Nova Horizon has just unleashed the highly anticipated music video for their latest sweeping single, and it is a breathtaking masterclass in visual storytelling. Filmed entirely on vintage 35mm film in the remote, sweeping highlands of Iceland, the cinematic companion piece perfectly mirrors the majestic, sweeping textures of the track.
The video is streaming now on all major video platforms and embedded directly below.
Capturing Sound in Scale
Directed by visionary filmmaker Elena Rostova, the video avoids traditional pop narratives. Instead, it opts for vast, slow-burning landscape cinematography. The visuals contrast the immense scale of glacial fields and volcanic black sand beaches against intimate, close-up performance art.
The choice to shoot on authentic 35mm film gives the piece a distinct, timeless grain that beautifully complements the analog hardware synthesizers used throughout the song's production.
Behind the Production
The crew spent two weeks battling unpredictable sub-zero temperatures and intense winds to capture the raw footage.
"We wanted the environment to feel like an instrument itself," explained the producer behind Nova Horizon. "Elena captured the exact feeling of isolation and awe that inspired the song in the first place."
